Save the Dam Falls Committee continues to push for town vote on Montgomery Dam
The Camden Select Board voted July 6 to hire a consulting firm to look into options for the Megunticook and create a task force for the project. They said townspeople would vote on any action such as removing dams, but members of Save the Dam Falls Committee remain committed to holding a town meeting to vote on the matter sooner rather than later.

Camden Select Board tables Megunticook consultant, elects chair, vice chair
The Camden Select Board held off on naming a new consultant on the Megunticook river restoration project to allow new board members more time to study the matter. Bob Falciani was named board chair and Alison McKellar vice chair.

Save the Dam Falls calls for November vote or September special town meeting
An attorney representing the Save the Dam Falls Committee has asked the town to put the question of preserving the Montgomery Dam on the November election ballot. If not, the group plans to call a special town meeting to decide the issue, independent of the Select Board.

Camden Select Board approves river restoration project consultant, parking program
In a busy meeting the Camden Select Board handled several issues May 24 including hiring a consultant for the controversial river restoration project, approving funding for a pilot parking program at the public landing and appointing the Police Chief to serve as inland harbormaster. Law enforcement patrols are planned for the lakes this year.

Camden Select Board approves river restoration grant, takes action on Rockport sewer bills
The Camden Select Board voted 4-0 to go forward with a grant application concerning river restoration for the Megunticook on May 10. It also has decided to take legal action against Rockport for unpaid sewer fees.

Select Board throws out both petitions concerning Montgomery Dam
Members of the public expressed outrage Tuesday, April 5 as the Camden Select Board decided not to put any articles on the town meeting warrant concerning the Montgomery Dam. Two different groups had gathered signatures seeking to put questions on the ballot around dam removal and river restoration issues that have been hotly debated in the town for some time.
