Local retailers saw record smashing sales in May

The most dramatic increase was reported by lodging businesses that were largely shut down last spring because of health restrictions by COVID-19. Local lodging businesses reported sales of $3.2 million in May 2021, nearly 10 times the amount recorded in 2020.
