Don Shields led high school varsity diamond programs at Oceanside and Georges Valley and was involved with Babe Ruth in Midcoast as umpire, coach and league president for 27 years.

High-powered Acadians oust Medomak 11-12s from state softball
Little League diamond stars from Waldoboro, Friendship, Warren, Union and Washington outscored by Acadians 28-2 in two games in losses, but also swung to walk-off victory over Brewer/Hampden July 10.
