Medomak Valley holds Winter Carnival Week
Winter Carnival Week at Medomak Valley High School, sponsored by the Student Council, was held Feb. 8 to Feb. 12. It is a yearly event, with competitions between the classes each day. Winter Carnival Week included the caterpillar race, the banana relay, an obstacle course, a talent show, musical chairs, dress-up day, a limbo competition, a talent show, tug of war, a pantyhose race and a hula hoop competition.

Maine State Museum features history of Perry Greene’s Chinook dog breed

Rockland officer to make memorial ride
Rockland Patrol Officer John. P Bagley, one of the city's several bike officers, will ride his bicycle to Washington, D.C., in May for the annual Police Unity Tour. Land trust to lead snowshoe trek Feb. 13 at Burkett Mill Preserve
The Medomak Valley Land Trust will host a snowshoe/hike on its Burkett Mill Preserve on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. Burkett Mill, MVLT's largest preserve, has several miles of trails that wind around streams and bogs and up over small hills.
