6 a.m. - 7 a.m.The Barnaby Druthers Mystery Hour

New, original audio theater returns to the radio dial right here on WRFR! Barnaby Druthers is a bumbling British detective who incorrectly believes he is the intellectual heir to Sherlock Holmes. Enjoy the modern American adventures and the classic Victorian era tales!

In the second half of the program, enjoy a wide assortment of audio theater entertainment created by the Nutmeg Junction .

7 a.m. - 9 a.m.  The Classical Music Show

Hosted by Spike Hyssong.  Join Spike every Sunday morning from 7-9 am, and enjoy his vast collection of classical music.

9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Blue Highway Radio

(also Saturdays at 10 p.m.)
Music that will celebrate and explore the road less traveled. Roots, Folk, Blues, Rock, and Americana music from artists local and afar; familiar and not; old and new please join your host, Bruce Swan every Sunday at 9:00 AM or Saturday @ 10 pm.

4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Built For Comfort

“Built for comfort” a collection of toe-tappin’, dance makin’, sometimes head bangin’, jamming music that has a groove. A flow of some bluesy, some rock, some jazz, some crappy 80s music, dance and disco, groovy jams and one zappa tune per show!




Quit doomscrolling and start laughing – with the Strand On The Air’s “Don’t Let The Internet Get You Down!” Edition, broadcasting over WRFR on Sunday February 28that 5 PM! Join your house manager Liz McLeod, musical director Brittany Parker, announcer Dan Bookham, those ever-popular bytes of fun the Strand Family Players, and our special musical guests Freya, for a full hour of laughs and tunes!  You’ll hear a special “All Things Rescinded” examination of the Internet’s impact on a pandemic-weary public, featuring an exclusive first-time-ever interview with the actual Internet itself! And down in Abysmal Point, listen in as Mrs. Grunden and Lilita intervene to convince Gertie Crummett not to believe everything she sees on You Tube!


Guest stars Freya are vocalist Gretchen Haggard and guitarist Catherine Smith, both of whom followed a childhood fascination with music into adulthood, along a path that eventually led them to the Midcoast Music Academy, where they first worked together in MCMA’s adult band “Better Late.” They began working as a duo in 2020, entertaining at outdoor venues around the area and branch now into the broadcast medium with their Strand On The Air performance. They can’t wait for the warmer weather so they can again bring their upbeat melodies to outdoor audiences!


7 p.m. - 8 p.m. I Just Came to Play Music

Ben Martin Is a 17 year-old student at Medomak Valley High School. He has a wide variety of music to share and a deep appreciation for vinyl, film, and comedy. He lives in Warren.


8 p.m. - 10 p.m.  The Vinyl Hour

(also Thurs 2 – 4 p.m.)

The program showcases a variety of musical genres including the Blues, Jazz, Rock and Pop, Country, the Big Band era and more. Kyle plays only vinyl records from his extensive collection, broadcasting live. With turntables spinning, he travels back in time, “letting the tone arm gently ride the groove.”


10 p.m. - 12 a.m.  Late Night Groove w/Bruce Swan

(repeats Tuesdays 11 p.m. - 1 a.m.)
Join Bruce as he explores and introduces you to new singers, songwriters and bands that you may not have heard of..or maybe you have!
