Workshop for women to focus on self-compassion Oct. 24

Sep 13, 2018

Camden — Quarry Hill’s Women After 50 series aimed at building a sense of community among older women offers a half-day gathering focused on treating oneself with compassion, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Anderson Inn, 30 Community Drive. The event will be facilitated by art therapists and counselors Lisa Cohn, MA, LPC-C, and Bodhi Simpson, LCPC, ATR.

Cohn and Simpson note that while most women feel compassion for others, they often hold themselves to unmeetable standards and berate themselves when they fall short of their goals. This workshop will emphasize relaxed, supportive discussion and use of the creative process SoulCollage to help each participant gain insight into her life’s purpose and unique gifts for greater self-acceptance.

Admission is free and open to all mature women. Facilitators encourage participants to continue gathering on their own, in their homes or other settings, to further the dialogue and connections that each program inspires.

Registration is required; call 921-6116 or email qhinfo@pbmc.org.
