Rockland — The group 100+ Women Who Care-Knox County recently donated $1,225 to the Knox Clinic. The clinic is a volunteer-based non-profit advocating for and providing free/low-cost medical, dental, prescription assistance, mental health and wellness services to the uninsured and underinsured in Knox County.

The next 100+ Women Who Care meeting will be Tuesday, March 5, from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. at Watts Hall, 174 Main St., Thomaston. The group provides an opportunity for women to contribute $50 – through individual or pooled memberships – four times a yea,r with a goal to give $20,000 directly to local charities by the end of the year.

At each meeting any member can nominate a preapproved nonprofit she personally wants to speak about. Three randomly selected members briefly speak about a nonprofit that is near and dear to their heart. After presentations: all present members secretly vote via ballots on which nonprofit to support. The nonprofit with the most votes receives all the money raised from the meeting. For more information, visit ocmv.org.
