Winter weather advisory issued

The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a winter weather advisory.

A plowable amount of snow is expected into this evening for most locations across the state, the weather service reports. In the Midcoast, 2 to 4 inches is likely.

Low pressure will develop south of New England today and then track into the Gulf of Maine this evening. This will spread light to moderate snowfall across the region, which will end from southwest to northeast last this afternoon and evening.

Roads are slick as reports are coming in of cars off the road in Washington, Warren, Union, Hope and Rockport.

Cancellations in the Midcoast will be added to this list as they are received:

Rockland Lodge of Elks 1008 Bingo is canceled.

Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor closed at noon.

Regional School Unit 40 board meeting has been canceled. Rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27, 7 p.m. at Miller School in Waldoboro.

"The Challenge of Rudolf Steiner" free documentary film, parts one and two are postponed to the next two Wednesdays, Jan. 23 and 30, 7 p.m. at Lincolnville Community Building.
