Rockland — The public is invited to join song leader Carney Doucette and piano accompanist Sojourner Hodges-Crowley for a Winter & Holiday Sing-Along — a not-so-traditional evening of singing during the holiday season — Thursday, Dec. 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the reading Room of Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St.

Everyone is invited to come open their hearts and share peace, hope, joy and magic through song. The sing-along will include solstice and winter songs, along with some traditional hymns and modern Christmas songs. Non-singers are welcome to come and enjoy an evening of community while listening to new and favorite holiday music.

McRae Doucette is Director of Religious Exploration for the Unitarian Universalist churches in Rockland and Damariscotta. She has been singing all her life and currently is a member of the Quasimodal Chorus.

Hodges-Crowley has been composing and performing since childhood; at age 17, she was featured as a composer and performer on the NPR program “From The Top.” In 2016, Hodges-Crowley was in residence at the Composer-Librettist Studio at New Dramatists in New York City; and her mini-opera, “Annie Kempton,” was performed at Opera From Scratch in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Lyric sheets will be provided. This program is free and open to the public/participants of all ages. For more information, call 594-0310.
