Rockland — The Coastal Children's Museum has a weekend of fun events gearing up for the Thanksgiving holiday. On Saturday Nov. 17 the Tomlinsons of Wild Haven will be bringing their flock to the museum to entertain and educate.

Starting at 11a.m., the show will be held above the children's museum in the Sail Power Steam museum and is included in the price of admission. There will be a special bird-brained craft downstairs after the show.

The weekend continues on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. when visitors will be making the museum's gingerbread house entry for the Rockland Main Street Festival of Lights 'Gingerbread Houses on Main Street' competition. Local artist and former teacher Marianne Swittlinger will be the architect in chief to help make an entirely edible structure. This workshop will be held in the Arty Party room and is included in the price of admission.

The Coastal Children's Museum will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 in honor of the holiday.
