Warren voters to have choice in selectboard race

Warren — Warren residents will have a choice when they go to the polls June 8.

There are three candidates seeking the third seat on the Board of Selectmen. The seat is currently held by Jim "Skip" Kinney, who did not seek reelection.

Filing papers to be on the ballot for seat three are Michael Doucette, John Crabtree and Richard Butler.

The fourth seat on the Board of Selectmen is being sought by incumbent Jan MacDonald. There are no challengers for the seat.

The deadline for filing nomination papers to get on the ballot was April 9.

There are no candidates for the school board seat currently held by Regional School Unit 40 Board member Sara Andrews. Her term expires in June. Warren has four representatives on the 16-member regional school board.

There are no contested races for three seats on the Warren Sanitary District, Incumbent Lyle Bailey is unopposed for seat two; Ed Courtenay is unopposed for seat three and there are no candidates for a vacant seat five.

The RSU 40 budget validation vote will also be on the June 8 ballot.

Polls will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 8. Absentee ballots will be available beginning May 7 and can be picked up until 5 p.m. June 3. All voted absentee ballots must be delivered to the clerk no later than 8 p.m. June 8 at the polls. Questions and concerns can be directed to the Town Clerk at 273-2421.

The annual town meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15. The Board of Selectmen are working on a proposed budget and warrant articles to go before residents at that town meeting.
