Union — The fifth annual Union Fair Car Show welcomed new and returning vehicle enthusiasts June 5. The show took place at Union Fairgrounds, off Route 17 on Common Road.

The show welcomed vehicles of all kinds – cars, motorcycles, tractors and special vehicles. Vehicles from decades ranging from before the 1940s to the 2000s were welcome to enter. The show saw hundreds of people from all over Maine.

Registration to show or sell took place from 8 to 10 a.m. The gates opened to the public at 10 a.m. The award presentation began at 1 p.m.

Entries in each class were eligible to win an award in their class category, and had the chance to win Best of Show, Best Stock, and Judges’ Choice. The show awarded trophies to winners and ribbons to all entries. Best of Show also won $100 in cash.

More than 30 awards were handed out, with Best Stock won by #70 Amanda Kaler of Warren for a 1976 Plymouth Duster; Judges’ Choice won by #1 Mike Reynolds of Holden for a Camaro and Best of Show won by #23 Donald and Ronald Partridge of Glenburn for their 1946 Chevy.

Other attractions at the show included a 50/50 raffle, touch-a-truck and other exhibits for children, and music. Food was available for purchase.

Proceeds from the show benefit Medomak Valley High School, the Friends of the Union Fair Society, and agriculture education.

Great show thanks to the Dickeys’ and crew

Next year consider refining classes by requiring vehicles to park grouping by years ie 1960-69, 1970-79 and so on especially in truck category where everything was mixed together
