Warren — A 22-year-old Warren man was released on bail Friday, July 6, after he was arrested the previous day, accused of sexually assaulting a teen.

Michael Canfield is charged with Class C gross sexual assault.

He was released on $50,000 surety bail following his initial appearance Friday in Knox County court.

An affidavit filed in court by the Knox County Sheriff's Office details the events around the alleged offense, which occurred April 6 in Warren.

The 17-year-old alleged victim met with Canfield after corresponding with him over Facebook. The woman said they went to his residence and he assaulted her.

I guess this incident is not high profile to enough to warrant a full reporting of the past history and details of the offender actions.

Maybe he should have been a day care worker or former school employee then we would be inundated with facts and figures.

A seventeen year old is a minor - not a woman, as reported.
