Waldoboro store fire under investigation

Waldoboro — The Maine Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of a fire that heavily damaged McGreevy's Corner Store Oct. 17 on Bremen Road.

The fire was reported around 7:15 p.m.

The back wall of the store was left charred and blackened by the blaze. The store was closed at the time of the event with nobody there.

It is owned by Jeanette Wordock of Round Pond.

The store was closed Friday, Oct. 18 as the owners assess the damage. Wordock said it is a family-run business.

At least they were able to save the returnable bottles and cans. Good save.
