Waldoboro — Waldoboro police officers responded to 201 calls for service between Aug. 29 and Sept. 11. Below are a few of the highlights.

Aug. 29

Officer Larry Hesseltine summoned Jordan Smerdon, 20, of Bristol, for operating after suspension, uninspected motor vehicle, and failure to produce proof of insurance.

Aug. 30

Hesseltine investigated a report of theft.

Sept. 1

Hesseltine arrested Rashad McKinney, 25, of Augusta, on a violation of conditional release.

Hesseltine investigated a crash at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Atlantic Highway at 6:20 p.m. Marshall Parenteau, 23, of Windham, was southbound on Jefferson Street in a 2008 Honda sedan, when he made an improper U-turn and was struck by Joseph Brann, 23, of Waldoboro, who was following too closely in a 2000 GMC pickup truck. No injuries were reported.

Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated a crash on Feyler’s Corner Road at 8:45 p.m. A passenger in a 2004 Honda sedan owned by Dimitra Crudell, 24, of Waldoboro, was uninjured when the driverless car rolled down the road and flipped over.

Sept. 3

Officer William Bragg investigated a report of criminal mischief done to a trailer.

Sept. 4

Hesseltine investigated a report of threatening and harassment.

Hesseltine investigated a crash on Old Augusta Road at 11:45 a.m. Christian Hoch, 19, of Friendship, was driving west and exceeding the posted speed limit in a 2012 Toyota pickup when Helen Bess, 33, of Beverly, Mass., was starting eastbound and failed to yield the right-of-way in a 2011 Kia utility vehicle, striking Hoch. No injuries were reported.

Hesseltine summoned Paul Heino, 42, of Warren, for operating after suspension and violation of conditional release.

Sept. 5

Hesseltine investigated a report that someone stole skirting from under a trailer.

Bartunek investigated a report of theft of items from a vehicle (approximate value $53).

Sept. 6

Bartunek arrested Kenneth Judkins, 31, of Waldoboro, on a violation of conditional release.

Sept. 7

Hesseltine summoned Seth Wills, 40, of Rome, for speed and failure to show proof of insurance.

Hesseltine investigated a report of the theft of some items out of a barn.

Sept. 8

Hesseltine arrested Alisha Maxcy, 27, of Waldoboro, for domestic violence assault.

Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated a crash at the intersection of Union Road and Atlantic Highway, at 3:53 p.m. Laurie Kilby, 29, of Freedom, was stopped southbound on Union Road in a 2004 Chevrolet sedan behind Jewell Galetta, 51, of Waldoboro, who was in a 2015 Hyundai utility vehicle. When Galetta pulled ahead some and again stopped to wait for traffic to pass, Kilby also pulled ahead and struck Galetta. No injuries were reported.

Sept. 9

Officer Andrew Santheson investigated a crash on Atlantic Highway at 6:23 a.m. Justin Richards, 28, of Waldoboro, was traveling north in a 2003 Dodge van when he drifted off to the right side of the road gradually. Richards stated a deer jumped out in front of him. No injuries were reported.

Sept. 10

Hesseltine summoned Gail Fearing, 58, of Rockland, for uninspected motor vehicle.

Sept. 11

Hesseltine investigated a report of theft, with approximately $1,000 worth of items stolen.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
