Waldoboro library announces December artist of the month

Nov 30, 2019
"Rum Cove, Harbor Island" by Suzanne Cooney Phillips.

WALDOBORO — Waldoboro Public Library’s Artist-of-the-Month for December is Suzanne Cooney Phillips, a native of Waldoboro. Her work is inspired by the light and atmosphere around the Medomak River and her seasonal home on an island in Muscongus Bay.

She draws from memory, dreams and direct observation to invent a pictorial world that records the shifts and changes in the coastal environment. Phillips said, “In my work I strive to find the underlying rhythms and patterns that familiarity would let go unnoticed.”

The library is located at 958 Main St. and her show runs through January 2020.
