Waldo Theatre extends 'Almost Maine' auditions to in-person

Mar 20, 2021

Waldoboro — The Waldo Theatre, 916 Main St., is extending auditions for a late-June production of the play "Almost, Maine" to include safe, in-person auditions Wednesday and Thursday, April 21 and 22, at the theater.

Written by John Cariani, "Almost, Maine" is a series of loosely connected tales about love, each with a compelling couple at its center, each with its own touch of sorcery.

Actors, aged late teens to early 60s, will rehearse on Zoom in April and in-person with Director Andrea Itkin in May. During in-person rehearsals, the Waldo team will be checking in with the cast about COVID-19 vaccination and testing statuses to keep everyone safe.

This will be the first play to be produced in the newly renovated Waldo Theatre space. Set for June 17 through 19 and June 24 through 26, several live performances are planned with limited audiences as well as live-streamed and/or on-demand recorded performances via The Waldo’s new streaming system. The safety of the cast, crew and audiences will be foremost in determining performance conditions.

In-person auditions are by appointment only between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Masks are required unless actively auditioning. Please visit waldotheatre.org/pages/auditions for details and to make an email request for an audition time.
