Rockland — The Monday Night Blues series continues April 23 with a two-band show starting early, at 6 p.m., and running to 10 p.m. in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Admission will be $20 at the door.

Gracie Curran & The High Falutin' Band will get things going with some finger-lickin’ jaw-droppin’ blues and soul. Hailing from Boston and hanging in Memphis, Curran and her crew have established themselves as one of the most exciting young bands on the roots scene today. They have shared the stage with the likes of Buddy Guy, Shemekia Copeland, Tab Benoit and Ronnie Earl … and they will get the Time Out floor rocking.

Multiple award-winning boogie-woogie blues pianist, vocalist, composer and producer Victor Wainwright steams back into Rockland in support of the just-released “Victor Wainwright & The Train.” The album’s title reveals Wainwright's aptly named new band; at a sweet-spot in his career, Wainwright is ripping up all that has gone before and taking a new genre-busting direction.

Winner of multiple Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year awards, Wainwright is no stranger to Midcoast blues fans and people are still talking about his 2014 festival appearance. Now the Blues Music Awards’ 2017 Pianist of the Year has found a new track, thanks to The Train: “I ended up with a hit-squad of downright amazing musicians that shared my curiosity for all corners of the roots genre,” he said.

Next up in the weekly series is another double-punch show April 30 starting at 6 p.m. ($20): Murray Kinsley & Wicked Grin; and Biscuit Miller & The Mix. May returns start time to 7 p.m.: May 7, Peter Karp Band ($10); May 14, Laura Rain and the Caesars ($15); and May 21, Bobby Messano Band ($15). Doors open an hour before shows. Schedule is subject to change.
