Virtual Paces for PAWS 5K and Walk-a-thon set for June

May 19, 2020

Camden — Looking for an excuse to get outside? Now’s your chance. Join PAWS Animal Adoption Center in June for the Third Annual Paces for PAWS: Going the Social Distance 5K and Walk-A-Thon. Participants can help raise money for animals in need while continuing to do their part to slow the curve. All proceeds will go toward supporting PAWS in continuing to provide shelter, food, and medical attention to displaced dogs and cats in Midcoast Maine.

Those who prefer to run can register at active.com and run a route of their choice over a distance of one mile, 5K, five miles, or 10K. Runners are able to complete their route anytime between Sunday, June 14 until Saturday, June 20. Prizes will be awarded to top runners.

Those who prefer to walk or for who just want to help PAWS can collect pledges to help raise money for PAWS. Walkers can register at pacesforpaws.org. Walkers who raise $100 will receive a free PAWS t-shirt and walkers who raise $250 will receive a free PAWS hoodie.  All participants will receive a medal.

During the current global pandemic, PAWS has had to cancel many in-person fundraising events that were scheduled to take place over the summer, all while increasing essential services to respond to new community needs related to COVID-19. Register today to support PAWS in continuing their lifesaving work for animals.
