Vacation week fun to feature science activities

Thomaston — The Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St., presents special activities for children each day during school vacation week. Since Monday, April 16, is Patriot's Day, the library will be closed.

Tuesday, April 17 will be Lego Day, beginning at 11 a.m. with a Lego-based bridge-building activity followed by make-your-own sandwiches and a showing of the "Lego Movie."

During the rest of the week, each day from 1 to 2 p.m. there will be a Cornerstones of Science activity to learn

about the water cycle, how some animals breathe underwater, frogs of Maine,and even Gyotaku -- the art of fish printing. Snacks will be served.

Activities are designed for children age 6 and older. Younger children may attend, but must be accompanied by an adult who can guide them through the activities.
