Nov 14, 2017

Waldoboro — Funded through the U.S. Department of Education, Upward Bound is a program that helps high school students get into and succeed in college. Students are the first generation in their family to graduate from college and come from low-income households.

The program, administered locally through Bowdoin College, is now taking applications for summer 2018. There will be an information session for students Dec. 12 at 12:20 p.m., and for parents at 6 p.m. the same day at Medomvak Valley High School, 320 Manktown Road. The program is free for qualifying students.
