Funded through the U.S. Department of Education, Upward Bound is a program that helps high school students get into and succeed in college. Students are the first generation in their family to graduate from college and come from low-income households.

The program, administered locally through Bowdoin College, is now taking applications for summer 2018. There will be an information session for students during the school day and for parents at 6 p.m. the same day at Medomvak Valley High School, 320 Manktown Road. The program is free for qualifying students.
