UPDATE: Man suffers injuries after falling from staging at middle school construction site

CAMDEN — The Camden Police Department was called to the construction site of the Camden Rockport Middle School Dec. 6 after a worker fell off of staging.

The man fell about 14 feet from formwork staging, and is currently at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, according to Ledgewood Construction Project Manager Peter Reynolds. He declined to release the man's name.

The SAD 28 superintendent's office clarified Dec. 7 that the man sustained three broken ribs and a broken vertebra in his lower back, has movement in his legs and was undergoing surgery that day.

Camden Police Lt. Mike Geary said the call came in at 10:53 a.m,

Camden Police Officer Allen Weaver assisted on the scene. North East Mobile Health Services took the man to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
