Union tax rate rises half a mill

Union — The Union Board of Selectmen set the property tax rate for 2019-20 at 18.30, up from 17.80 the previous year, when they met Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Town Manager Jay Feyler noted that MSAD 40 assessment is up $162,918, or 6.5 percent, while municipal spending is up 2.8 percent, for an increase of $73,855. After subtracting additional revenues, the municipal net raised is slightly less than last year, he said, at $1,495,770.66, with an overlay of $45,681.18.
