Union Area Chamber of Commerce offers grants

The Union Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for candidates for their scholarship and business grant opportunities. The scholarship is to assist a college-bound student, or currently enrolled college student, who is a resident of the Chamber’s service area for a minimum of two years. This includes the towns of Appleton, Hope, Union, Waldoboro, Warren and Washington.

Those seeking awards from the Scholarship Fund must provide one letter of recommendation, submit a written essay explaining their career goals and how the award will benefit them, and a completed application which can be found at unionareachamber.org.A scholarship of $500 will be awarded to the qualifying student at the Union Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on April 29, 2020.

A business grant has also been established to assist a current Chamber member, in good standing, in pursuit of continuing education, and/or professional development as it relates to their business. A grant of up to $500 will be awarded to the qualifying candidate also on April 29, 2020.

The deadline for submitting applications is March 15.
