Camden — “Uncle Pirate,” a musical for the whole family, will be presented Wednesday, Feb.7, at 6 p.m. at the Camden Opera House as part of Winterfest 2018. The one-hour Murphy Theater Productions show is produced in association with the Camden Public Library and features students from Camden Hills Regional High School.

Wilson is just your average kid, but one day he finds out his uncle is a pirate. With help from Uncle Pirate and his faithful talking penguin, maybe, just maybe, Wilson can survive the fourth grade. Wilson is played by Hunter Rahkonen, with Nick Watts as his Uncle Pirate. Captain Jack is played by Colin Stewart, Annabel Parker plays Carla, Kevin Bergelin plays Principal Purvis and Ms. Quern is played by Alexys Schaeffer. The ensemble cast features Wesley Henderson, Preston Henderson, Anna Weber and Cooper McBride.

The show is directed by Kim Murphy. Choreography is by Gretchen Henderson, and the accompanist is joani mitchell. The show is adapted for the stage by Ben H. Winters, based on the book “Uncle Pirate” by Douglas Rees, with music and lyrics by Drew Fornarola.

Tickets are on sale now at Camden Public Library, $5 per person — free for children younger than 5 — or $15 for a family. The first 100 children through the doors get their very own eye patch.
