UMaine Extension to hold 4-H Youth Science Day

Waldoboro — University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Knox and Lincoln counties will take part in 4-H National Youth Science Day Sunday, Nov. 3, with a Maps & Apps experiment for youth ages 9-18.

From 2 to 4 p.m. at 377 Manktown Road in Waldoboro, participants will design and map an ideal park, as well as use GIS mapping to solve community problems and contribute data about participants' communities to the United States Geological Survey.

Pre-registration is required. Youth do not have to be 4-H members to participate. NYSD is held annually to promote programming that sparks interest and leadership in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers.
