Thomaston — A two-vehicle crash on Route 1 re-routed northbound traffic for 30 minutes Dec. 24, said police.

Philip Reed, 84, was driving a 2004 Lincoln Continental and pulled out of Creek Hill Auto Repair in front of Rebecca Maxwell, 72, who struck Reed's vehicle. Maxwell was driving a 2001 Dodge sedan north on Route 1, according to Thomaston Police Chief Kevin Haj.

No one was taken to the hospital and damage to both vehicles is estimated at $3,000 each, said Haj.

Northbound traffic was re-directed to Old County Road for about 30 minutes until the scene was cleared.

Thomaston Fire and EMS responded to the scene as well as two deputies from the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
