Twelve strays of Christmas

Dec 13, 2012

Ho Ho Home. It’s time for our annual 12 Strays of Christmas celebration. Now until Christmas, 12 special animals who have been at the shelter for far too long will be promoted to help them get the best possible gift for Christmas, a home. To help them, the adoption fee for three special dogs is reduced by $50 and for nine special cats the adoption fee is just $12. Give the gift of love and a happily-ever-after to Shadow, Shy Ann, Lily, Alan, Molly, Cobalt, Genoah, Bella Donna, Mocha, Juanita, Socks and Jasmyn. Learn more about these wonderful animals on our newly redesigned website hskcme.org.

Our pet pick of the week is Alan, a senior boy who is so lovable even with his sometimes curmudgeonly ways. This poor boy was found as a stray stuck in a storage container before he was brought into the shelter. He is definitely a shelter favorite. He will be happy to keep you company by your side while you work or read. A basket by the window will make his day and he is sure to make yours.

Thank you to all who came out to eat, drink and be merry and to help homeless animals in our community at 3 Dogs Café’s 3 Dog Night benefit. Thank you to Steve Watts and Keith Stone of 3 Dogs Cafe for hosting this wonderful event. Tables were laden with amazing food both savory and sweet, and the company of fellow animal lovers was delightful. During the evening the raffle for the picket fences quilt donated by Judith Sala was drawn. Congratulations to raffle winner Sam Zdrojewski.
