Trio presents songs of Ireland, Scotland and more

TENANTS HARBOR — Gabriel Donohue, Marian Makins and Seamus Connolly present a special concert, “Along the Flaggy Shore,” at the Ocean View Grange on Wednesday, July 24, at 7 p.m. The program includes songs of Ireland, Scotland and the Celtic Diaspora interlaced with stories and anecdotes from a lifetime of music and performing.

All three of these multi-talented musicians have made music all over the world and are well known to many here on the Midcoast. They never disappoint and will be sure to present a spirited and special concert showcasing their love of traditional songs and their attachment to Ireland and Scotland.

Donohue is an Irish born singer and multi-instrumentalist who has performed with the Chieftans, Cherish the Ladies, Aoife Clancy and many others. Connolly is also Irish born and a gifted and renowned fiddler and NEA National Heritage Fellow. Marian Makins is well known for her pure and haunting voice and her interpretation of traditional and original tunes.

Tickets are $20 at the door. The Ocean View Grange is located at 435 Port Clyde Road (Rte. 131) in Martinsville, between Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. For more information, call 372-8629. Refreshments will be served and seating is limited.
