Rockport — Travis Lee Erb, 30, died unexpectedly, Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 in Rockport.

Born in York, Pa., April 22, 1982, he was the son of Curvin and Marlene Bowman Erb.

For his entire working career, Travis was proud to be an iron worker. He was a member of the Local Union No. 404 in Pennsylvania before moving to Maine in June 2012. Most recently he joined the Boston Local Union. His wife said he loved being an iron worker.

On Oct. 2, 2010, Travis married the love of his life, Laura B. Castonguay in Hanover, Pa. Together they have enjoyed raising their son, Nathaniel. One of Travis’ favorite pastimes was hanging out with his family, and just having family time.

An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, he loved fishing, especially off The Catwalk in York Haven, Pa. His wife said he was a down-home kind of guy who loved country music, playing pool and watching the Steelers; and don’t forget, playing X-Box 360.

Travis will be missed by all who knew him.

Predeceased by his father, Travis is survived by his wife, Laura Erb and his son Nathaniel Lee Erb, both of Rockport; his mother Marlene Erb; his brother Chad Erb, both of East Berlin, Pa.; two brothers-in-law, Mikey Castonguay of Hanover, Pa., Jay Weaver of East Berlin, Pa.; a sister-in-law Lisa Castonguay of East Berlin, Pa.; as well as the entire Castonguay and Erb families.

A service of love and remembrance will be held Sunday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. The Rev. Wayne Sawyer will officiate.
