Rockland — The drawing of the winning tickets for the Lobster Trap Raffle took place Jan. 3 in Mildred Merrill Park in Rockland.

McKenna Brooks, daughter of Brooks Trap Mill owner Stephen Brooks, pulled the two winning tickets from the 255 sold, giving the lucky winners the choice between 50 of the specially made lobster traps from the Trap Tree or $2,250 cash.

Donald Schwab of Port Clyde chose to take the cash, while Gordon Connell of Spruce Head opted for the lobster traps.

Several members of Rockland Main Street Inc. joined representatives from the participating ticket sales outlets.

The Lobster Trap Tree and the Lobster Trap Raffle are part of the overall production of Rockland Main Street's annual Festival of Lights promotion, sponsored this year by The Island Institute.

Brooks Trap Mill provided the lobster traps and sold raffle tickets, as did other organizations, including Camden National Bank, Hamilton Marine, First National Bank and Rockland Savings Bank.
