Owls Head — Coastal Senior College is offering an interactive and interpretive class on modes of transportation as depicted at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Owls Head. The class is for eight weeks from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and begins Feb. 5.

Both technical and historical information will be presented including interesting background stories related to many of the exhibits. For a final exercise, students will be asked to prepare and present information on one exhibit as if they were a tour guide. Students will also be encouraged to describe their own adventures with transportation.

Leading the class will be two volunteers at OHTM, William Dashiell and Bruce Stedman. Together they developed an outreach program for children on concepts of air pressure and flight. Both were former math teaches, Dashiell at the University of North Carolina and Stedman in Maine public schools.

Students will be offered free admission to the museum for all days from Feb. 5 through April 2. For more information and to register, call CSC at 800-286-1594. CSC, dedicated to the joy of lifelong learning, offers classes in a wide variety of subjects in the fall, winter and spring and serves communities from Boothbay to Camden.
