Tonight! P.A.W.S. Auction for the Animals

Join us tonight as we once again kick off the festivities of Camden’s Christmas by the Sea with its annual Auction for the Animals.  The auction is P.A.W.S.’ largest event of the year and raised close to $15,000 last year to support the care of hundreds of homeless cats and dogs that come through the center every year.

P.A.W.S. is pleased to hold this year’s auction at a special new venue, its future adoption center at 123 John Street in Camden. Admission is free. Doors will open at 5:30 PM for the silent auction followed by a live auction run by auctioneer Bruce Gamage, Jr. of Gamage Antiques. There will be a cash bar and mouth-watering fresh pizza baked on site in Café Miranda’s mobile pizza oven. This year’s auction is sponsored in part by PenBay Veterinary Associates of Rockport.

A preview of the auction is available online at Over one-hundred businesses and individuals have already contributed items and gift certificates. As the auction continues to grow, new items will be added to the online preview regularly.  Items include travel, art, entertainment, and gift certificates for everything from gourmet meals to golf.

Attendees will have a chance to take home an elegant pearl pendant designed by Etienne Perret, valued at $200, which will be raffled off at the conclusion of the auction. Tickets are $5 each and only 200 will be sold.

For information about volunteering, sponsoring or donating to the auction contact Joelle Albury at or call 207-390-0935.
