UPDATED: Four to run for Camden Select Board seats

By Susan Mustapich | Apr 09, 2021

Four candidates will be vying for two open seats on the Select Board in June.

The positions are currently held by Taylor Benzie and Jenna Lookner, who are not seeking reelection.

As of the April 9 deadline, Parker R. Gassett, Peter Lindquist, Sophie Romana and Matthew Siegel have returned nomination papers for the Select Board seats, and been qualified for the June ballot, according to Town Clerk Katrina Oakes.

Both seats are for three-year terms.

Patrick McCafferty returned nomination papers and qualified for the June ballot. He is running for reelection for a three-year term on the Camden-Rockport and Five Towns school boards. McCafferty is currently chairman of the Camden-Rockport School Board.

Jonathan Beitler has returned nomination papers, and qualified for the June ballot. He is running for a three-year position on the Personnel Board.

Elections will be held June 8.

The deadline for returning nomination papers to the town office was April 9, no later than 3:30 p.m.
