Warren — Speed and other factors appear to have contributed April 1 to a two-truck crash on Route 1 in Warren.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office issued a new release saying the Knox County Regional Communications received a call at 10 a.m. April 1 of a crash at the intersection of Route 1 and Western Road.

Deputies arrived and the investigation shows that a Dodge truck driven by Timothy 0Wall of Jefferson was traveling north on Route 1. Wall lost control of his vehicle on the corner and slid sideways across the southbound lane towards the intersection of Western Road. A 2018 Ram box truck registered to Bowden's Egg Farm was stopped at the intersection on Western Road and was struck by Wall's vehicle.

Wall was taken to a hospital where he remains with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The driver and passenger in the box truck — Gerald Curtis of Bucksport and Matthew Heath of Orland — drove themselves to the hospital later with complaints of pain and have since been released.

"It appears that speed and other factors were the cause of the accident," the Sheriff's Office stated.

Deputy Drew Graham is investigating and charges will be forthcoming.

Warren Fire and Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
