Three at Tidemark for ArtWalk

Aug 05, 2017
“Blue Dock Line” is a watercolor by Katherine Gray.

Waldoboro — ArtWalk Waldoboro’s village art celebration Saturday, Aug. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. will bring three new artists to Tidemark Gallery, 902 Main St./Route 220.

Martha Baum and Katherine Gray paint the Maine experience in oils and water media with a freshness both surprising and familiar. The warmth of the sun fills the space in a skiff and dances across the ripples in the slip — the way it only does in Maine.

Andre Benoit’s constructions of painted wood are dramatic and witty. Some of his non-representational work recalls the originality of Louise Nevelson’s abstracts, while his ingenious repurposing of found objects tell new stories to tickle the brain.
