Rockland — Landing Gallery, 409 Main St., has opened “Points North,” a new three-person exhibition focusing on current paintings and photographs by Roberta Baumann, Bruce Busko and Jill Valliere. The artists’ opening reception will be held Friday, July 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. during Arts In Rockland’s First Friday Art Walk.

All three artists are Rockland residents and have widely exhibited their work throughout Maine.

Valliere is a 1997 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design whose process of layering, adding and subtracting elements — and metal leaf as a medium — creates an effulgent, transitional passage in her in her paintings.

Baumann is an award-winning fine art photographer who enjoys working with new processes, techniques and equipment. Alternative processing, using various applications and materials, are combined for the final works.

Busko is an exhibiting artist and owner/director of Landing Gallery. His work, inspired by spending time out in nature, has been exhibited in his galleries, in New York and Maine, since 1980, in addition to many juried shows, invitational exhibits and awards.

The current show will run through July 30. For more information, call 239-1223 or visit landingart.com.
