Thomaston — The Results Basketball Clinics will return to Thomaston on Saturday, Nov. 17 for boys and girls in fourth through eighth grades. The event is hosted by the Thomaston Recreation Department.

The clinic, which will help young players enhance their overall games, will be 2 to 6 p.m. at the Oceanside West gymnasium. The cost is $25 for Thomaston and St. George residents and $30 for non-residents.

The Results Basketball Clinic will be led by Husson University assistant women's basketball coach Matt MacKenzie, a Medomak Valley High School graduate, who played collegiate hoops for the Eagles.

MacKenzie scored more than 1,300 points and pulled down more than 500 rebounds during his four years at Husson University, while nearly eclipsing the 1,000-point mark at MVHS.

Also helping lead the clinic will be college basketball scout Mark Baxter, who has coached at the middle school, high school and college levels and also played for the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Saturday's clinic will focus on becoming a force in the paint, becoming a better shooter and ballhandler, one-on-one and team defense, offensive and defensive strategies, skill contests, trivia and lectures.
