The window of The Wooden Alchemy showcases works by Thomaston’s Rob Jones.

Damariscotta — Rob and Barbie Jones of Thomaston invites the public to an open house at their new gallery, The Wooden Alchemy, 79 Main St./Business Route 1. The open house will run from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 14.

U.S. veteran and Maine native artist Rob Jones will be on site to share his story, and his love of transforming wood into treasure — unique, functional art. Wooden Alchemy offers Jones’ laser-cut wood items and also displays works from the artist’s private collection. These include pitch-perfect handcarved “brass” instruments, as well as many other carvings.
