New Hope for Women presents "The Impact of Language - How We Talk and Write About Domestic Violence," a Camden Conference Community Event

This interactive pre-conference event will take as a premise that traditional and social media have a growing influence on the ways in which we learn, write, and speak about domestic violence. Together with New Hope for Women's Education and Outreach Director, Kelly O'Connor, attendees will explore the power of accountable language, how we talk and write about domestic violence and how this impacts our engagement with survivors and perpetrators alike, factors that may unintentionally perpetuate a cyclical narrative of victim-blaming. This event is free and open to all.
