‘The Beauty of the Maine Coast’

The beauty of Rockland and environs will go on view and benefit sale at The Art Loft during the city’s First Friday Art Walk.

Rockland — The downtown Art Loft will open “The Beauty of the Maine Coast,” featuring work by photography students, with a 5 to 8 p.m. First Friday Art Walk reception Aug. 4. Free drinks and snacks will be served.

“The Beauty” showcases work by attendees of photography workshops over the past year with instructor and Art Loft co-founder Paula Apro, whose work also will be shown. These students came to Rockland to practice the craft of creative photography and captured its scenery in the process.

The art on display will be available for $150 or less, with all sales directly funding the nonprofit’s art programs and prison art project. The show will continue to the end of the month at The Art Loft, 385 Main St., Suite 9, in the Thorndike building. Starting Wednesday, Aug. 9, local artist Angela Anderson offers another Acrylics with Angela course. For more information, call 200-7915.
