Rockland — The Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St., welcomes Darren Ranco, Ph.D., Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. for a talk on how the arrival in Maine of the emerald ash borer will affect Wabanaki basket-making traditions.

He will discuss work that he and a team of research partners have been doing since 2009 to prepare for the arrival of the emerald ash borer, and what the future of Wabanaki basket-making looks like, given this threat.
