Talk on apple cider vinegar Aug. 20

Belfast — Long-time organic apple grower Bob Sewall and wife Mia Mantello will explain how cider vinegar is made and discuss the many uses for vinegar, from cooking to medicinal applications, in a free presentation Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

Sewall is former president of the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association. Together Sewall and Mantello operate Sewall Orchard in Lincolnville, the oldest certified organic orchard in Maine still in operation.

During the 6:30 p.m. presentation, there will be aged vinegar to sample and vinegar for sale. All are welcome. For more information, call the Belfast Free Library at 338-3884, ext. 10.
