Talk: Greenland, Its Land & Its People Oct. 15

Hope — Hope Historical Society will present Greenland: Its Land & Its People, Tuesday Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. The occasion will be the society’s annual meeting, a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. at Hope Corner Firehouse on Route 105, followed by a brief business meeting and the featured program.

Hope resident Ron Smith will speak on his Greenland trip this summer, where he visited Greenland’s eastern and western towns and hiked the 100-mile Arctic Circle Trail. Smith’s talk and photos will focus on Greenland’s landscape and its people. Smith is a world traveler, endurance athlete (hiking and biking) and amateur photographer.

Hope Corner Fire Station is located just northwest of Hope Corner and next door to the Hope Historical Home. The meeting is free and open to all. For more information, call 763-3576 or e-mail
