Take a trip to the ‘Jazz Age’ at open studio

Rockland — The public is invited to a holiday open house at Carol L. Douglas Studio, 394 Commercial St., on Saturday, Dec. 7, from noon to 5 p.m.

The theme of the party is the “Jazz Age.” Reminiscent of Bohemian studio parties attended by Bright Young Things, there will be period refreshments and music. “You’re not required to dress in your feathers, beads and bangles, but it will help set the mood, especially if you can do the Charleston,” said Douglas.

When Douglas relocated her studio to Maine from New York four years ago, she stopped her tradition of an annual party to thank friends, students, clients and gallerists. “I didn’t know if anyone would come,” she said. “But I’ve been warmly welcomed to this unique arts community, and want to return the favor.”

The Arts & Entertainment deadline is Thursdays at 5 p.m. for events dated on/between the following two Thursdays. Please email press releases/photos to A&E Editor Christine Dunkle at arts@villagesoup.com.
