In February, Swing & Sway Dancing owner Christian Clayton, along with Jessica Libby, accepted the Special Recognition Award during the annual Chamber of Commerce award night gala on behalf of the Rockland dance school. Along with the award, the studio also received a letter from U.S. Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) in recognition of the honor.

Swing & Sway Dancing takes part in many local fundraisers and has a number set for this spring. Friday evening, March 28, instructors and students from Swing & Sway will do a few short dance demos followed by a short swing dance workshop to heat things up for the Teen & Young Parents Program fundraiser at the Rockland Lodge of Elks. Swing & Sway Dancing also is part of the Saturday, April 5, Roaring 20’s Murder Mystery fundraiser to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation at the Samoset Resort; and, as always, is integral to the annual “Dancing with the Local Stars” fundraiser for The Wayfinder Schools, formally known as the Community Schools. This year’s show is set for Friday, May 9, at the Camden Opera House.
