Sue Look Chosen Valentine Empress in Beta Sigma Phi Royal Court

Sue Look was recently chosen by her chapter, Preceptor Beta of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, to represent them in the International sorority’s annual Valentine Queen Contest.  Photos are sent in to the International office in Kansas City, Missouri from all around the world and are judged each year by a different celebrity.  The judge this year was Greg Malins, who is a screenwriter for several TV shows, “Friends” among them.  By chance his Mother has been a Beta Sigma Phi since 1961 in Seattle, Washington.  Beta Sigma Phi is an International cultural, social and service sorority.  The Rockland area chapter was founded in 1945.

The Royal Court consists of Queen, Sweethearts, and Empresses and the chosen royalty appear in the Sorority magazine’s February issue of The Torch.   Sue is an Empress to be proud of.  She is a devoted sister, so faithful and always helpful with anything asked of her.  She is a champion at being thoughtful of others. She moved to Rockland from Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. She joined sorority in 1956.  Sue has been an active member for 57 years and has been an exemplary member in every way.  She has served on most chapter committees, and has been elected to all Officer Positions.  She now delights us with her Secretary’s minutes and continues to amaze us with her knack for embellishing them for the last 10 years.  She remembers ill members with cheery cards and keeps in touch with members who are away for the winter.

Sue spearheaded Daffodil Days for the Maine Cancer Society for several years.  This was one of sorority’s service projects.  Sue is also a member of The Timbrel Ringers Hand bell Choir from The Congregational Church in Rockland.  She is an active member of the PEO Sisterhood.  (Philanthropic Educational Organization).  She is currently employed by The Maine Lighthouse Museum in Rockland.   We are proud of all her accomplishments and her exemplifying in every way the Motto of Beta Sigma Phi which is  “Life, Learning, and Friendship”.    We are happy to have her represent our chapter as Beta Sigma Phi's Valentine Empress for 2014.  Happy Valentine’s Day to all.
