Stringchronicity for Second Sunday

Jan 29, 2014

Rockland — Second Sunday Music will continue Feb. 9 at Harbor Square Gallery, 374 Main St. Stringchronicity, a new collaborative of four veteran Midcoast musicians, will perform at 1 p.m. Admission at the door will be $10.

Fiddlers Tom Judge and Susan Groce are the core duo of the group, with multi-instrumentalist Nick Apollonio and guitarist Will Brown completing the lineup. Judge and Groce are former members of Different Shoes and The Occasionals. Apollonio is well known as a builder of fine stringed instruments and has collaborated with Gordon Bok and Ann Dodson. Brown is known most recently for his involvement with Meteora, as well as playing with Dodson and Cindy Kallett. All the members have been regulars at the Sweet Chariot Music Festival held on Swans Island each summer.

Stringchronicity’s repertoire hails mostly from the Celtic tradition, along with a hearty mix of French Canadian, Scottish, Finnish and Swedish tunes. For more information about what should be a lively afternoon, call 594-8700.
