State continues probe of inmate death

Warren — The investigation continues into the death of a 28-year-old inmate at the Bolduc Correctional Facility.

Dana R. Bartlett died shortly before 6 p.m. June 24 at the facility.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Tuesday, July 3, that the case remains under investigation.

Maine Medical Examiner's Office spokesman Mark Belserene said Tuesday the office continued to work on the case and there was no information to release.

The Corrections Department stated June 24 that, consistent with the its policy and the Maine Attorney General’s Office protocols, the Maine State Police and Maine Medical Examiner were notified.

Bartlett had been sentenced March 22 in Androscoggin Superior Court to 16 months in prison for driving after habitual offender revocation and theft by unauthorized taking. He was scheduled to be released March 28, 2019.
